PADI Open Water Referral Dive Course Start your PADI World Wide Certification Before You Travel The PADI Open Water referral dive course referral allows you to complete most of your scuba training at home here in Melbourne and then, finish your certification dives anywhere in the world. This means you can avoid studying during your vacation and complete the pool session before you travel, leaving you just four dives to complete your certification anywhere in the world. What is a PADI Open Water Referral Course? With an open water referral, you’ll complete all of the two phases (knowledge development and confined water pool session) before leaving for your destination. You can then finish the final part of your scuba course, the open water dives, anywhere in the world. Your PADI Open water diver certification begins here. You will start with PADI’s online eLearning course, and then you will spend a few hours in our local swimming pool, where you will practice your new scuba diving skills. The Basics You Need To Know About The PADI Open Water Course: PADI online theory – eLearning is supplied upon booking from DGA Our PADI Open Water Diver course is a full certification that allows you to dive with a buddy to 18 meters You will need to have transport to and from the DGA store Scuba Diving Medical is required. The minimum age to become a PADI Open Water Diver is 15 Years old. For the PADI Junior Open Water Diver course, the minimum age is 12 years old. PADI online theory – eLearning to be completed before course commencement A referral is supplied after the successful completion of the pool session Course Duration 8 hrs. How The PADI Open Water Referral Course Works What You Need To Know BEFORE THE COURSE STARTS Complete the PADI Openwater eLearning Knowledge Development ( online, independent study) to understand the basic principles of scuba diving before you can learn to dive. After Booking, you will need to come and visit us at the dive shop at least two weeks before your course date, where we need to fit you out with the Scuba Diving Gear you will be using during the course. COURSE STRUCTURE Today, you will meet at the dive shop at 8 am for orientation. Then you will learn about the Scuba Diving Equipment that you will be using to dive, As well as how to set up your dive gear. Next, we will make our way to the swimming pools where the FUN Begins, Starting with a 200 meter Swim and then the Confined Water Dives to learn the necessary basic scuba diving skills you will have forever. After the pool session, we will return to the dive shop, where you will learn how to wash your gear correctly. Today’s finishing time is usually around 4 pm. PRE-REQUISITES TO LEARN TO DIVE Be over 12 years of age. Be a Confidant and Competent Swimmer and be able to 200 meters. (It is only four laps of a 50m pool) Be physical fit. Like most sports you will need to purchase your personal items for the course, that is a Mask, Snorkel, Gloves, Boots, and Fins. As experienced dive professionals, we can help will fit you out with the right gear suited for you to maximize your comfort for Scuba Diving. Wetsuit and Scuba Hardware are provided for the course. WHAT CAN I LEARN NEXT Once you are PADI Certified as an open water diver, you can take the next step to enhance your skills by Scuba diving deeper, Night diving, Wreck diving, Drift diving, and perfect many more skills as an Advanced Open Water Diver.
